How Far We've Come

Watching fictional characters grow up and slowly falling in love with them is what my life is about. 

So I'm assuming Maka started off the series at age fourteen and it ended with her at sixteen, but that's just me ball-parking it cuz I don't really know. And Kid is a few months younger than her in my mind and I am a sucker for that headcanon that one of the reasons Shinigami-sama broke off a fragment of his soul to make Kid is that he saw how happy Maka made Spirit and wanted a kid of his own . 

This drawing helped me with my headcanon calendar for the development of KidMa. So for the longest time, I've only drawn KidMa in two stages: the stage where Kid has an adorkable crush on Maka and the stage where they're dating. Because I find it hard to milk comedy from whatever is in between that, I just don't think about it. But recently I've been think about the Book of Eibon story arc. Feels everywhere, man. I think that when Kid was gone, that was sort of the point where she realized how she cared about Kid more than she previously thought (not necessarily in a romantic way), and then omfg when he gets back... I have so many stupid headcanons and dialogues in my brain for thing- jfc this is getting out of hand.

So yeah- FINALLY! I figured out how to turn it into a mutual crush! I'm so proud! (Pointless accomplishment) *whoops*
