This all began when I realized that I didn't draw Crona enough. I flipped to a random page in my notebook, and started sketching it out. It was originally gonna be Ragnarock, but then my brain was like, "You suck a swords. Draw Maka as a scythe instead!" On one of my latest comics, I made the joke that Maka should have a meister, because she is technically a weapon as well, so yeah. Then I decided it would be unfair if I just did her with Crona, so I paired her up with erry'body. And because I hate it when parts of my drawings aren't done in the same style, I did everything on notebook paper. Anyways, I think I should sort of talk about why I drew who I drew as Maka's meister(s).


MAKA: Cause she is a strong, independent weapon who don't need no meister. And I felt like doodling blades popping out of her arms.

SOUL: Missions would be a lot easier if Maka didn't have to drag along an extra team member and if Soul would just learn how to use her. Yeah, I know he isn't a meister, so this isn't really plausible, but I don't care because he looks epic in that pose.

KID: Before someone below comments that scythes aren't symmetrical, SHADDUP. Becuase I made Maka a double-bladed scythe, she has RADIAL symmetry. And for his pose, I did my best to immitate the scythe version of 'Death God Tajitsu- Stance of Sin.' Plus, Maka and Kid are enough alike to match Soul Wavelengths (in my opinion). And if she became a Death Scythe, she'd be his weapon ANYWAYS, so the partnership is possible. (If it wasn't blatantly obvious already, I'm a little biased towards a Kid-Maka partnership)

BLACKSTAR: I'm just gonna say it outright- there is no way this could actually happen. His soul is too inflexible for anyone besides Tsubaki to pair up with him. I just sort of like the idea because he's epic, and I feel like when he and Maka were growing up together in Death City, the conversation of "If only one of us was a weapon- then we could pair together!" might have popped up.

CRONA: So far, Maka is the only one able to understand his/her Soul Wavelength. Ragnarock himself dominates/consumes Crona's soul instead of matching with it. So Maka and Crona would probably be able to pair up. My only problem with this is that I'm not sure how Crona would wield a scythe with one hand on his arm at all times...

STEIN: He can master any weapon. ANY WEAPON. And if Maka was his weapon, then Marie could go back to being a Death Scythe, and Maka would be near him whenever the need arose because she's a student in his battle class. GO HOME TO OCEANIA, MARIE. (Sorry- I really dislike her as a character...)

ANYA: Because that way, Meme and her wouldn't have to fight over Tsugumi anymore. Personally, I don't really care to much for Meme and I really like Anya with Tsugumi, but if its a question between Anya or Meme getting to partner with her (Maka), then I think Maka and Anya would make the awesomer team. That might have been a little hard to understand, but yeah......


And yes, in my mind, Maka is a double bladed scythe. I did that because first of all, during her (anime) fight with Asura, blades popped up from all over her body, and not just in one place like Soul or Spirit who are single-bladed. And I thought she would look too much like Spirit if she wasn't double bladed. Plus if I didn't, I would have a harder time trying to find a reason why Kid wasn't coughing up blood from holding something in an asymmetrical way.
